1st Bike Ride

Flora went for her 1st bike ride, on May 29th. With her car seat securely fastened, she made it to Brad and Nicole's house, without a scratch. She enjoyed the ride and is looking forward to grocery shopping.

Little Fish

It was so nice out today that Flora took her first dip in her kiddie pool. She seemed to like it, but was tired, so we stayed in about 10 minutes before she got cranky. She had good timing, though, because it started to pour two minutes after we got out!

Memorial Day

Well, Flora survived her first camping trip in the van. Her schedule was thrown off a little, but she is already getting back to "normal".
Although the weather was pretty nice, is was a little too cool for her to go swimming. Maybe next time.

Jumping for Joy

Flora got a jumper the other day. She is a little unsure of what to do, but she'll do more jumping as she grows!

Keeping it up-to-date...

For my first Mother's Day, Flora gave me a pretty silver heart-shaped locket with "Mom" on the front "From Flora 5-13-07" engraved on the back. I put the picture above in it.
Flora is doing very well. We see her smiling a lot, even when she's not looking at anyone or anything in particular.
She is also discovering her hands. She sucks on them and some times manages to swat her toys.
Her legs are more active as well. They are always going and they are strong.
I have my fingers crossed that her blocked tear duct has opened up. Her eye has been normal, with no tearing, for the past two days.
We have been spending as much time as we can outside. Our little family goes for long walks after supper. On Thursday we walked to our friends, Brad and Nicole's house, and had a bonfire and roasted marshmallows with their son, Zach.
Flora also "helps" me with yard work. Just yesterday she helped me mow the lawn(I wear her in the Snugli and our mower is electric, so it's as loud as a vacuum). She really enjoys being outside.
We are all looking forward to going up to the Pink Castle next weekend. Tom has Friday off, so we will go up on Thursday night. If you are interested in coming up, just get a hold of me or Tom. Otherwise, hope you all have a nice relaxing weekend!

2 Month Check-up

Flora had her 2 month check-up yesterday. The doctor said Flora was in good health. She weighs 10lbs, 9ozs, and is 23.2" long. Flora is in the 57th percentile for her weight and the 89th percentile for her height. In case you wanted to know.
After we were at the doctor's, Flora and I went for a walk at Baird's Creek in Green Bay with our dogs and our friend Misty, her son, Levi, and their dog, Jake. The weather was perfect for a hike through the woods.
Then we came home to grill out on the deck with Papa and then went for another walk in the stroller.
Whew, what a busy day outside!!!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Flora update...
Flora is becoming more alert. We are seeing more smiles and she tries to "talk" to us. She's been playing in her little toy gym(above) more, too.
Lately she has been sleeping 6 hours at night, wakes up has a bottle and goes back to sleep. Hopefully we are on the road to sleeping through the night. But I can't complain, because that's pretty good for a 7 week old!
Flora had a healthy appetite and is currently eating 4 oz. during the day and 5 oz. at night to fill her up a little, since she sleeps so long.
Tuesday, the 8th, she has her 2 month check up. We'll post more then!
